I actually have a little twinge of excitement that I’m wearing these for the first time tomorrow.

I actually prefer captoes over plain toe.

I also wish Rancourt could make the rubber piece of the sole flush with the leather.

actually, it is flush. your comment only shows, that you haven't a rudimentary clue of shoemaking. so be it. one could probably say, the final finish would improve from more attention to the detail. thats all ..., carry on.

OK, maybe I am not using the right terminology. I just think it would look better if the rubber was level/"flush" with the rest of the leather sole. Not sure what to call that. Again just think it would look more aesthetically pleasing that way, not sure if that would ruin the functionality/structure in any way.

I have a pair of Venetians from there where they've also added a rubber piece to the leather midsole.

Re-examining the picture above though it does look like the leather sole was sanded down a bit to accommodate the rubber.
