I get that, but there is a middle ground between having 3 pairs and so many that you wear some once every 6 months. To quote your good self, 'I've got way too many pairs'. I'm sure you're not missing out on anything as a result, just my opinion is all, hence why I stopped at around 12 pairs.
12 is a great number. I have 21 with a couple on the way out and one on the way in, but in my case I walk a ton and switch up pairs during the course of my day so I inevitably go through everything at least once every 10 days or so. If I knew my preferences when I started I would have been more considered and would have preferred to stop at around 10 - 12. At some point down the road a cull is coming. ;-) Or at least a 2 out 1 in system.

if they were (roughly) the same price, would you buy a shearling-lined EG Galway or a CXL Viberg Service boot?

Usually I'd say Galway, but as someone who wears boots all year 'round, i am unsure about the versatility of a shearling lined boot. That said, Galway anyway because EG fits me so much better.

Out and about in the White’s Rambler. Out of all the footwear in my rotation, this is the pair I enjoy putting on the most because of the simply brilliant arch support. That chunky wedge sole too. ;-)

what last is that on? Do you like them because of the wedge sole or the last? I don't think that much of the arch support in the 55 last, i prefer the way Alden do arch support with their thomas heels
