New Arrivals: Cable Knit Shetland Sweaters

Shetland sweaters are a fall-winter staple; they are hardwearing, insulating yet surprisingly lightweight. Their fuzzy texture, more so than for instance merino, elevates everyday attire during the colder months. We particularly like them in vibrant colours, such as burnt orange, denim blue and forest green.

New Arrivals: Fall / Winter Tailoring

Besnard_Tailoring_New Arrivals banner.jpg

This season we are introducing two new sport coats; a brown Prince of Wales check in Merino wool and a black and white houndstooth in undyed wool.

For our inaugural suit collection, we selected two versatile fabrics that are suitable for all seasons; a navy hopsack in a beautiful midnight shade with a matte finish and a mid-grey sharkskin with a subtle texture and modest sheen.

Our house style is characterised by a full chest, soft extended shoulders, and a relatively wide lapel with a low gorge. One of the most distinctive features is the slanted dart running from armhole to pocket. Our fit is comfortable and flattering to all body types.

If anyone has questions or need my assistance with finding the right size, happy to answer questions here or at [email protected]

@VictorBesnard

Two questions for you re MTO.

1.) How much extra material is there to be let out from jackets and trousers?

2.) Are you able to lengthen the front and back rise any?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

1) Trousers have about 4-5cm in the waist (and gradually less in the seat)
Jackets have a bit of extra fabric at the side seams (about 1cm) and a bit in the center seam (about 2cm). About 3-4 centimeters in total.

2) It's not a problem to increase or decrease the rise for the trousers. Just mention it in the comment box and I will make it happen.

Happy to help if you have any other questions.

Is the overcoat also part of the Besnard offering?

Went past your store today in Haarlem, looked very good from outside. Unfortunately currently a bit out of my price range, but hopefully in the future :).
Thanks, feel free to have a look inside. Future customers are also welcome for a cup of coffee ;)

Polo coats are part of our made-to-measure service, not ready-to-wear at the moment (hopefully in the future)

Just writing here that there is a neat little article about Victor on the front page. https://www.styleforum.net/ams/styleforum-q-a-with-victor-besnard.126667/

If you haven't tried his MTM shirts, they come out really nice and you can select from a lot more fabrics than he has on the site.
Thanks, glad to hear it.

For those unfamiliar with our offerings, our made-to-order shirts are crafted in Naples with either 3 handmade operations (armholes, buttons, and gusset) or 6 handmade operations (collar, armholes, buttons, buttonholes, gussets, and bartacks). Each shirt is finished with thick Australian mother-of-pearl buttons.

A variety of style options are available, such as collar, cuff, front and back. We created a small yet comprehensive selection of collar and cuff styles, catering to your distinct preferences.

While there are about 100 fabrics available in the webshop (with new additions each month), we have access to all fabrics by Thomas Mason, Canclini, and Grandi & Rubinelli. If you have a specific fabric in mind that is not available online, please feel free to reach out.

It's also worth mentioning that this offer extends to our remote made-to-measure service, where we create a pattern based on your measurements. For more information, contact us here, via DM or at [email protected].

I loved the interview and the new MTO shirt service sounds great!

Would you consider adding cocktail cuffs as an option in the future?

A cocktail cuff is no problem. Please mention it in the comment section when you place your order.
