Actually, Now that I blew it with the comment above...

How do you get this far in life to be in a position to afford an Attolini and not know that.

Finally...You did take it off before you threw it in the machine, right?

Join a gym in order to slim down to fit the garment or else burn it.

Ok. I should have added that I had put a few away before doing this, in hindsight , stupid thing. And my sister in law immediately made the suggestion about the washing machine, citing her husband's identical accident previously. Maybe the soon-to-be-ex and the sister-in-law are working together .
The stains did come out, however.

Yes, but it ruined your suit. Do you not see the fallacy of your logic?

I do. I do.
I was responding to a previous question about the stains.

I blame the aperitifs. Although I have to say the suit has/had seen its best days.

Did you miss the DRY CLEAN ONLY tags that are prominently displayed in every suit ever made?

Seriously, how the hell did you know enough to look for Attolini, a brand that basically only enthusiasts pursue, and not know that a washer would ruin it? This can't be real.

Not having had thoroughly satisfying relationships with various cleaning services over the years, I'm not wholly convinced that one of the two or three I occasionally use wouldn't have screwed up this 'job' on this occasion either.
Maybe I should invest in a chain of dry cleaners offering a reliable service.

The cotton canvas H&M variety doesn't count.

Hmm... those two comments go as well together as... let me see now.... I know: a washing machine and a finely tailored woolen garment.
