I see that now. It makes sense now that you'd have a pet weasel. :)

Speaking to fellow dog owners: do your pets also love rubbing their fur off on wool trousers and stepping/slobbering on freshly polished shoes? I live in the country so I suppose I should embrace it (the dirt and the grit, the fur and the slobber, etc.). "Thankfully" the only leather thing I've had a dog chew up was my wallet.
Oh heck yes! Rub on any trousers, slobber on anything. Embrace it, its a sign of "doggie love"

Everything that you love about these are my reasons for not getting.

Hey, at least you're honest! I have nothing like them... I guess it's a bit of an addiction at this point.

As @ecworks said, it is the 7 last. Back then they called it the MacNeil last, and then it went to the numbering system. Same last as was used till just recently.

Happy New Year, folks!

Just got my last pair of shoes for the year, and despite being in the middle of replacing an old toilet (that is cemented to the concrete basement floor!), I put them on.

I’m not sure I’ve seen this model/color of Long Branches on here, but I dig pebble grain leather, and have a pair of black Florsheims that made me want a similar boot. I wanted a pair for a long while, and when the price dropped to $200 for firsts, I could wait no longer.

I had planned on upgrading them to double JR soles, but wasn’t able to as this model is now a closeout. So instead of paying an additional $40 and getting them once, I’ll have to spend more, send them back, and wait around. I might do Dainite and wear them to the office for wet weather under flannels and cords. Also, I’ll get the speed hooks removed at Bedo’s.

Anywho - I totally dig them, would love more iterations of the Long Branch, and am very happy to finish up the year with them.
(Also: got two boot bags) ??

I would've grabbed a pair of the MDs if they'd been offered in E (maybe in an earlier drop they were; last time out, IIRC, they were only available in D), so I might be interested in a Dundee in a Suede TS.

Me, too. No telling how many they would have sold if E had been available. I have the Dundee in burg shell and would have gotten an MD chukka if it had been offered in E.

I'd absolutely consider a suede version of a Dundee in a trunk show if it were Stead or equivalent quality suede. Price would be a consideration. For the price of an AE Williamsburg chukka ($445 MSRP), you can get a C&J Chiltern direct from authorized dealers in the UK shipped to the US. So it will be interesting to see what AE rolls out for a suede trunk show and how long it will be before they release details.
