Vietnamese sandwiches just plain rule. i usually get them at Banh Mi My Tho here in Alhambra. hole in the wall joint with a max capacity of maybe 10 people standing, a B rating (wouldn't have it any other way). and you just can't beat the price, $2.25 for the beef version.
Broome, Elizabeth and Mott are close enough to go to during lunch (nice that it is cold so Canal St. is not a zoo and I can navigate easily) so I will look those up.
Jeez I feel at $7.95 I'm getting ripped off.
I eat Bun Thit Nuong at least monthly at Pho Cyclo, it's great. I wouldn't carry out from there though, because I have to park anyway, and sitting down for a sandwich would be unlikely. I do like to go by Saigon Deli on a nice day on my bike, pick up a couple sandwiches and something to drink, and go sit up at one of the parks on the Hill and eat them in the sun.
