    Second that. I only have three pairs of C&J purchased since 2021 but have been very impressed with the overall quality. My only issue was a wayward tongue on one of my Islays. Also, my cobbler who switched those Ilsays off the Dainite raves about C&J quality, and he can be downright brutal...

    If you like the Harrington style (which is sleek), Baracuta often features limited runs in goat suede or calf and lambskin leathers that are made in Italy. My suede jacket ex-vat was around $700.

    I have a Barbour Harrington (Brobel model) and love it. Since my suede Baracuta doesn't leave the house if there's a chance of rain, it makes a great pairing. Also, Harringtons are pretty eternal style wise. I think any stylish man should have at least one. I'm up to three.

    I wouldn't blame the tongue issue on that particular model or leather. One of my Islays had the same thing, and many others here have dealt with this in C&J boots. It is a systemic flaw with their boots and something that they really should address (half or quarter gusseting?)...

    I'm on the fence. I just had a second retina detach, and the surgery has maxed my annual out of pocket expense (I'm in the US and have to deal with our rent-seeking, parasitic for-profit health insurance system), so I might but don't want to commit immediately.
