Vintage Dress shoe appreciation, tips, maintenance and advice

Not quite vintage but wondering if anybody has advice on how much these could clean up if purchased - don't have much experience buying and touching up old shoes, but have most of the products required. My inclination is they are a bit too banged up and weren't cared for enough, but that I like...

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

thank you so much. yes I am definitely wary of narrow boots on my right foot so that is good to know. the E is already a wider width however, correct? It is not like C&J where the E width is standard width, I believe.

Edward Green Appreciation: Pictures, Info, and Where to Buy

Viberg 2030 last and 1035 last both fit me pretty well in size 9.5. My right foot is right at 11D on brannock while my left is a bit smaller. Usually the main thing I have to watch out for is right forefoot tightness. Do we think a 9.5/10E Galway on 82 Last will be the right fit?

anything like the carmina forest last I will probably just stay away from with my wide forefoot problems on the right foot.

Grant Stone - Official Affiliate Thread

honestly this is probably a stupid way of doing it but I have never really messed with anything in E width. in the brannock my sizing is firmly normal D width, and the only time I ever experience discomfort is in my right foot if the shoe has a small toebox. If I size up or down appropriately I...

Got my crimson cap toe boots in. Went size 10 vs Viberg 9.5 on 2030 and it was the right sizing choice. This may be a stupidly obvious thing to say but the Vibergs are clearly a step up to me in terms of leather quality, comfort, etc. very pleased I have both now and hoping the GS will feel a...

appreciate it. I just purchased the Viberg brown service boots and they got here today love them but I honestly can't find many distinguishable differences and people talk up the quality of GS so much that I figured if there is any way to justify given the price difference. I do like the GYW...

Is there any reason I shouldn't get Grant Stone's Crimson Chromexcel plain toe boots instead of a pair of Vibergs given the price difference?

Any recommendations on how to track down a Chelsea 5 in black calf without going the MTO route or any recommendations of similar with the rounder toe last?

Grant Stone - Official Affiliate Thread

Damn. Was looking for a black Chelsea boot right in this price wheelhouse but I don’t think the chunkiness of the sole and the build do it for me vs some other options I was looking at. I even was in the market for a more “rugged” one but just not feeling these for some reason.

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

Wow great recommendation. I actually was looking for one a bit more rounded and “masculine” (I have a saint laurent pair and don’t want the sleek high heel look) and for that reason I was looking at the Chelsea 5, but this seems to fit the bill well. My other option was splurging on the viberg...

** Quintessential Crockett & Jones Thread ** (reviews, quality, etc...)

I want a high quality budget black Chelsea with dainite. Thoughts on purchasing this and resoling at C&J or is that a waste of money? Does the upper seem in decent shape to you guys aside from the creasing or am I best off biting the bullet eventually on a more expensive pair...
