The Japanese Repro Clothing Thread (Real McCoys, Freewheelers, Etc.)

Real Mccoy's is the real deal. The quality is up there with any brand. I bought a visvim denim jacket a few years ago secondhand, and never understood the pricing. The repro brands were all just as good, if not better in quality.

I've tried the tucked t look and mostly feel goofy wearing it that way. I know it's the usual look for repro style but at least for me, not living in a big city such a ny, can look cosplay as noted. I do however wear t's that are shorter, maybe 1-2" below belt line which gives a similar...

Does anyone own or have handled this oilcloth jacket? I'm wondering if it fits large similar to a barbour or it's more of a slimmer fit at your true size.

It's the khaki without stencil. I'm on the upper end of a M in US and L in JP but find this one tight up top if I wear anything more than a tee. I have broader shoulders though from working out so I think this is why.

Man.. might need to offload my Mccoy's N1 40. One of my favorite jackets but don't reach for it often as I'm a tweener size and the shoulders are too tight. Has anyone had any luck stretching an n1? Not really sure it's possible considering the alpaca and tight weave

I've had a few jackets from Filson- good quality stuff, although they have recently moved most production overseas which has bothered many fans of the brand. Tin cloth and mackinaw wool are definitely the highlights. Easily slots in with RRL vibe. Be aware that most of this stuff fits a size...

Are they vanity sized in the waist? I usually like a 32-32.5" waist and was thinking I would go size 30 or 31.. if they come back in stock

I've been eyeing this RL Brown's beach jacket for a few months and decided to pull the trigger on it since its on sale. Really nice quality and has some weight to it. Sleeves are a bit short so might be a problem for you taller guys.

I've been really thinking of grabbing a pair of 50s. The only thing that throws me is that often when I see images of them, there is a decent amount of excess material around the crotch. Do you find that settles in after wear/wash?

Love my McCoy's N-1. Damn that thing is warm. I agree the fit is great and more flattering than some of the other options out there. Only problem I have with it is I find the shoulders a bit tight if I'm wearing something thicker underneath such as a sweater or heavy flannel. Does anyone have...

Recently got lucky and found this limited edition HBT jacket in my size from Japan. Saw it in the article @Lotuspath posted earlier so I was inspired to wear it out today.

I used to have all of my jeans folded and stacked, and definitely don't mind doing that for non-raw models. However, I have a pair of Warehouse jeans that came one washed, and after wearing and washing a bunch, I noticed I have a crease fade from folding them so now I have a rack that I lay...

Do you guys find the seat of the Sugar Cane 1947 flares out? It looks that way in some model shots I've seen online, and doesn't in others. I like the fit otherwise so that's been making me hold off.

The Japanese Repro Clothing Thread (Real McCoys, Freewheelers, Etc.)

I definitely prefer when the sleeve sits right without a bunch of folds, so when they have a 35-36"+ sleeve length when I usually like a 33-34", just doesn't work unfortunately. Guess that's why I prefer the japanese brands most of the time as they fit me well there. I will say IH has some of...

Love Iron Heart, have picked up a few shirts from them recently. Only problem I have is sometimes the sleeves are a bit long and forearm's can be snug.
