IMHO, I think a black tuxedo and midnight tuxedo both tick off the same formal box and are a bit too similar to need both versions. If I had 2-4 black tie events a year to go to (assuming throughout the year), I'd do the following: a DB shawl ivory DJ (self facing) a SB shawl bottle green...- classicalthunde

To clarify, the comment wasn't on quality but stylistic choices. I meant the padding/structure of the shoulder itself on the vintage BB blazer is well short of what appears to be the padding/structure in the Genuardi example.- classicalthunde

I popped into J Press recently, and their MiUSA suits/jackets have a very soft shoulder much closer to the CAID example than the Genuardi one. Or even simpler, a self-contained story. IMO, the overarching problem with SW (and Marvel) at this point is that you need so much background info to be able to meaningful process the new releases. I'm cautiously optimistic for three reasons: 1. Its created/showrun by Leslyne Headland who did Netflix's Russian Doll, which I thought was really entertaining and original 2.
