I think this J. Press suit is in this fabric...a person of questionable ethics could order, check it out in person and then return

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

I just prefer the green velvet cause I dig green...but I think any of the standard velvets or even a tartan could work in this place for a winter DJ that is more informal and festive...

The State of Black Tie: Your Observations

IMHO, I think a black tuxedo and midnight tuxedo both tick off the same formal box and are a bit too similar to need both versions. If I had 2-4 black tie events a year to go to (assuming throughout the year), I'd do the following: a DB shawl ivory DJ (self facing) a SB shawl bottle green...

Official: STAR WARS THREAD. These are the droids you're looking for. **WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

I was a teenager when TPM came out...I think in hind sight its easy to criticize but, at the time, it was pretty wild as a kid to see full-blown Jedi and Sith in their prime go at it in a dual as opposed to an untrained kid/old man vs. a stiff cyborg past his hey day

IIRC I believe you can MTO a bunch of stuff in the MiUSA cut for a nominal up charge…I’m contemplating doing it for a seersucker or madras summer jacket

To clarify, the comment wasn't on quality but stylistic choices. I meant the padding/structure of the shoulder itself on the vintage BB blazer is well short of what appears to be the padding/structure in the Genuardi example.

I popped into J Press recently, and their MiUSA suits/jackets have a very soft shoulder much closer to the CAID example than the Genuardi one. The J Press MiCAN models have a much more pronounced shoulder. I quite liked the MiUSA Fox Air suit I tried on... I have an old (probably pre-mid...

Or even simpler, a self-contained story. IMO, the overarching problem with SW (and Marvel) at this point is that you need so much background info to be able to meaningful process the new releases. Take Asoka for example, you will have basically needed to know the overall story of The Clone...

Official: STAR WARS THREAD. These are the droids you're looking for. **WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

I'm cautiously optimistic for three reasons: 1. Its created/showrun by Leslyne Headland who did Netflix's Russian Doll, which I thought was really entertaining and original 2. Like Andor, it apparently did not use 'The Volume' virtual set. I've grown tired of them constantly leaning on...

This crossed my mind too...but I was under the impression that Fox makes their own cloth. @camez_ any insight?

Unfunded Liabilities: a/k/a The Cloth Thread

I would imagine that Fox would replace in kind with something else of a similar fabric quality, right? Its odd that there's such a gap in fabric offerings for a robust, midweight hopsack for blazers...

Pretty sure its Jesse, he often posts about flea market finds and stuff. Also, a lot of the PTO store stuff is split between trinkets/ephemera as well as menswear
