NYR - I was showing my wife (who is also a teacher) this thread for about 30 minutes last night and she was amazed that you were a teacher and that you dressed so well.

You purple h8trs out there can just keep it to yourselves. This is my first Drakes tie, and it garnered compliments at the rate of about 6 per hour yesterday. I may have gone too far with the socks, though. Are these argyles too casual for the rest of the ensemble?
Awesome !
LOL, thanks Achilles! I know I command more respect from the kids. A jacket and tie is an amazing power signal, and even though they may not like what I have to say, they respect it. I don't play games with them either. Too many teachers are caught up with "teaching these kids a lesson" in some fucked up, spiteful kind of way. These people shouldn't be working with children. With me, they always know where they stand, and why, and I think the way I dress helps get that no nonsense, all business approach across. Some of the kids will comment on what I wear from day to day, and they all laugh when a box arrives for me (usually some ties or shoes from eBay). It seems like I spend a lot, but its usually a in and out policy when it comes to new stuff. I also didn't always dress this way for work, and I have noticed a severe change in how the kids act around me. When I was far more casual, the kids were more casual. Now, like I said, we're all business. Its also great, because it allows me to be a nut job (I'm still basically a kid at heart) and I can play with them, but then reign them back in at the snap of a finger.
This made me scratch my head: I thought blazers typically are DB, navy/blue with patch pockets; buttons are often gold or silver.
The SC feels great,it does not move when I move my arms. It's the smallest size(34) available and My chest is 34. Next size is 36, it will be too big for me or is that sometimes acceptable that sometimes people have a certain size chest but wears a larger size SC/Blazer? I was just curious on if it needs any tailoring, personally I feel like the sides needs to taken in.
Well, certainly Inspector Gadget went nuts.
Greg, you've come a long way and I think you're settling into a style in which you look natural. Your posts are usually prefaced by an explanation of why you look bad, but you seldom do. Good work.
+1
Can't agree with this more, I always chuckle at the self-deprecation just before posting a realy visually pleasing fit.
Keep glutting then, because it looks great on you. Agreed with a couple of others above; stop apologising for your outfits!
Dont forget tomorrow is the blue challenge!
This = greatness.
