This suit seems to fit you well, except for the jacket sleeves. Are the shirt sleeves too baggy? If so, slimming them down would alleviate the bunching in the jacket sleeves. A good tailor can do that for $10-15.

Man, with all that surgery, it turned out great. Props to your tailor.

Tie is nice. I like the contrast with the suit. Classic color palette.

The suit devours the shirt-tie combination but is a great piece in itself. Some contrast in pattern or preferably color would improve this fit.

thanks for the comments from yesterday. for those who asked the tie is from Faconnable and the wingtips are pebble grain Barkers.

- Myke - you forgot the GQ rule about not showing white tees ... i kid i kid ...lol.
- Shaq looks a mess. He needs to take some styling cues from Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and Lebron.

i think this suit fits your body (and particularly shoulders) better than most of the others you have posted. will be interesting to see what the measurement of this shoulder is compared to your other stuff ... and also how much padding is in this one compared to your other s/cs you've posted.

Thanks for the advice. You may be right. Do you think it also shows the same problem here? (which I think might be a better idea of how it actually fits...)

With strong shoulder jackets it will always be hard to tell with your arm held like that. Take some straight forward and side pics in a relaxed position.

Yes. I have a similarly patterned suit. A solid dark tie would have made it. Here is my example:

Looks like you failed to button the inside button here, which is making it difficult to ascertain.

Thanks, y'all. The blog has been fun--sort of a combo of the two threads I visit most at SF--WAYWT and the thrift/discount bragging thread.

I think it's the stance, but I will take a closer look.

Possibly. I bought a bunch of BB oxfords and they are baggy as all hell. Didn't think it would matter under the suit, but it obviously does. Thanks for the advice, debating whether or not to have work done on a BB shirt...

Thank you sir! I think it's a padding issue, to be honest. Most of my other stuff is more traditional and has more padding at the shoulders. Pre SF, I wouldn't have cared, but now I lie awake at night worrying about shoulder padding. I am only slightly kidding. Anything one can do about that, economically?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
