^^^ They've a no quibble returns/exchange policy, provided you return the shoes/boots to them within 30 days and in the same condition in which they were received -- i.e., you tried them on in a carpeted area so as not to scuff the soles, etc. You'll send them back to them at your cost, and they'll give you a refund or send you out a replacement pair (your choice). If you request a replacement, they'll send it out quickly and even split the cost of sending them to you. This, unless they sent to you the wrong size by mistake (i.e., not what you ordered), in which case they'll issue to you a full refund, including the cost of return shipping. I have ordered 5 pairs of C&J's from Pediwear, never a problem but they can be slow to respond. Fortunately there is a C&J store here in New York, so I try on the shoes there first to figure out my size and then order.

how does Pediwear's pricing compare to the NYC store?

Had an OK experience in the past buying Trickers Stows from these guys, love the boots. Entered an order back in October for Grenson Smiths. Was told backordered til late November. Trying to get an update, several emails unanswered, customer service line always busy.

There web site states:

"Whilst we will answer all e-mails, due to the number of orders received,we are at present extremely busy and hope that customers will understand that emails relating to already existing orders will be given priority"

Just a really busy time of year I guess with xmas coming up. I ordered a pair of C&J Cliffords on Wednesday morning and am awaiting confirmation / shipping details.

Thank you for your very informative post re C& J fittings, as I have a size 9 US E to EE width, measured on Brannock Device. Based on the above information, do you think I can squeeze into a size 8.5 E width C & J Clifford, last 337.

I love C& J lasts but am afraid of improper fit re width. I have made the expensive mistakes of buying Sutor Mantellassi shoes, without paying heed to width, only to have to donate said shoes to my younger brother.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

^^^ Hey, Tony. Those Cliffords are super nice! My fear, without being able to try it on, is that, if you were to accomodate for the width on CJ's 337--which is narrow but also elongated--is that you'd wind up with a shoe that is too long (i.e., their E on average being equivalent to our "C" width in North America, thus being two-plus widths down from your normal US size, such that a 1/2 size accomodation might not be enough, I'm thinking, as it pertains to that particular last, and going up any more wouldn't fit length-wise). Have you looked at the Drummond? Choice of square or round toe, being roomier? Other options are makers who offer a UK G fit (a G being wider than a standard UK F/US D, so more like a standard US E width), and Pediwear stocks this size from other makers, but not CJs. Might want to do a search for this width in turn, and see what comes up for you. Another option for you, if you have your heart set on the CJ 337, is to consider purchasing your handgrade from Barney's New York who stock those in standard American D widths (being the equivalent of a UK F width, thus wider, a half-size accomodation should work with that, using an insert if necessary to shore up the fit while protecting the leather lining in turn). Seeing as you can't try them on and seem to be in b/w widths (yeah, if only all feet came in standard sizing, I hear you!), is that you trace the outline of your feet, wearing the socks you'd ordinarily wear, and provide those measurements (or, better yet, a copy of the tracing itself) to Pediwear. Might even send it directly to CJ themselves, who you can contact here: http://www.crockettandjones.co.uk/contactus.html Either/or could certainly steer you in the right direction, and provide you with options--CJs or otherwise--which will work for you. Definitely wouldn't want you to wind up donating another pair to your younger brother (bet he loves you for it, though -- hope I've been of assistance, and my pleasure

Been a few days since I ordered from them. Hopefully they have the size that I want. *crosses fingers*

You can always order a wider width. They are available, but you usually have to ask for them.

I love Pediwear. Great prices, great selection, and fantastic people. Every once in awhile I'll run into an out-of-stock issue, but it's usually because they place orders on a somewhat just-in-time basis. The good news about such a system is that you're reasonably assured of getting recently made shoes, and not shoes that have been sitting in a warehouse for X years.

I ordered and was billed for pair of shoes.

After several weeks with no updates or shoes, I contacted Pediwear. A few days later I got an email asking me to confirm that I actually wanted the shoes in the size I ordered. Why, yes I did!

A week later I received a parcel from Pediwear. It contained a pair of shoes - just not the shoes I had ordered.

I contacted Pediwear and sent back the shoes - at my expense.

Several more weeks pass and still no shoes. I contact Pediwear a few times. They finally send me the shoes I had originally ordered, by courier.

Bad experience. I don't intend to order from them again.

Ordered Wednesday, received Friday, no complaints here.

Wow, how in the hell did they process your order before mine.

Simple, availability of stock + geographical proximity = quicker processing.

Not always about who orders first.

this. My second order from them took 3 weeks due to them being out of stock and having to get them in from Crockett and Jones. First order took less than a week (from UK to Oz, that is pretty impressive)

This surprised me also. Having said that, a guy who PM'd me last week regarding sizing said a mate of his had an order from November that still hasn't turned up.
