Has anyone had the chance to try both Zimmerli or Tommy John undershirts? How is one versus the other (without mentioning pricing). Your thoughts?

Hanro > D&G> Armani> Zimmerli > Hugo Boss

Hanro similar to Zimmerli, both high quality Swiss made sea island cotton

Tommy John is Modal fabric. I believe it is man-made. Not natural and I do not like. It is stretchy, very Spandex like.

No, but I have quite a large number of Hugo Boss undershirt from around 10 years ago, all in the same fabric Modal.

They do not get much wear. I don't like synthetic fabric in general.

Modal is a natural fiber. It comes from a tree (similar to bamboo). I have Tommy John undershirts and love them. I don't know how they compare to Zimmerli because I've never worn Zimmerli. However, Tommy John shirts are extremely soft and light and thin, and they hug the body without having the feel of compression gear. I can't imagine a better designed undershirt.

There are multiple models of Zimmerli. I bought several of the lower model (100% cotton) at deep discount on Sierratradingpost and am not all that impressed. They are very durable and have a deep V, which I want, but they are short after washing. They are medium weight. The top of the line (cannot remember name) is a wisp-thin T that was a better length. The one I had was pretty durable and longer, but very expensive.

Modal is very soft and I prefer it much more than cotton, plus mine have never shrunk. I just stocked up on Tommy John black boxer briefs with the new fly opening. I had to go online though. Sales guy at Neiman Marcus told me about the new underwear that just got in, I tried one, and friggin love them. I have been wearing their shirts for 2 years now as I converted from Hanro. It's a solid brand and pretty much all I wear know for undershirts and underwear.

I wear Tommy John under shirts and as stated above have no complaints. They fit great and don't come untucked. IMO best under shirts out there.
