My Yohei Fukuda shoes (4)

I wanted more seamless shoes from Yohei San. But the reality is that it isn’t currently possible - Yohei San said that his worker responsible for seamless shoes has left the workshop in late 2023. So despite successful example of a seamless full brogue for @chobochobo, another local enthusiast, he had to decline my order.

At this point, my shoe passion has also grew up and matured a bit with my collection. Seamless is nice, but it’s only a technical quest. Balance, coordination and “relevance” are more important considerations on the grand scheme of shoe enjoyment - as part of the menswear and clothing picture.

During Yohei San’s recent trunk show, I decided to order his house style full brogue lazyman, from 3 pieces of leather (back, facing, vamp). Handmade MTO - but no longer obsessed with spi; Yohei San believed that for more “casual” styles like full brogues and split toe derby shoes, a lower spi at 10 would look more natural.

House style lazyman in ebony boxcalf. Handmade MTO. Hopefully my fourth pair from Japan’s most famous shoe artisan. 😁
