Winters in Beijing - suggested cloth weights for suits and overcoats?

If a possible move there becomes a reality, and anticipating the winter climate, I would need to seriously re-orient my suits (which at the moment are mostly tropical weight), and also acquire one or two heavier (22oz +) overcoats. For current or past Beijing residents, do you think 13oz suiting cloth would be heavy enough for winters, or if I should step up to 16oz? My HK based tailor tells me his Beijing clients have "never" requested suits heavier than 13oz. As for overcoats, do you think 22oz would be sufficient, or should I go higher? I'd be working in a modern office, so the major concern would be the 15 - 20mins outdoors walking between the subway and office or gym - which may suggest combining 13oz suiting with a heavy (25+oz.) coat (and perhaps a second coat a few ounces lighter). Although tending to run warm, I've most recently spent years in a fairly tropical climate so my tolerance for the cold isn't all that high at present. Appreciate any suggestions.

I've spent winters in Beijing. If you have the money for a truly seasonal CM wardrobe, I would do a heavier weight suit (13oz+) and an overcoat (21oz+). Otherwise, a more versatile midweight suit with layering works fine.
