I was given a used pair of Allen Edmonds Park Avenue by my brother, which is something I always wanted to have as the start of my shoes collection.
The problem is, the shoe's length fits me fine (9.5) but the width doesn't. Its width is D (medium) but width of my own foot is E (about 1/6 inch longer).
When I went to the local Allen Edmonds store to ask about this matter, I was told that only thing I can really do is to bring that to a cobbler to widening it. I don't really trust my local cobbler, but I am traveling to NYC next month which I am sure has a handful number of good cobblers.
I was wondering if anyone in SF had have any similar service with their shoes (i.e. widening the width of the shoes), and if they did, whether it worked well. Or would it just ruin a nice shoes?
