Just a heads up mine cost about $600.

EG Oundle which I managed to get for just under £550...makes every other shoe I'm considering seem like a bargain from the price point on view!

I shall post some pics soon I hope.

Will this be part of a jigsaw puzzle series that we can assemble later?

If I showed you the box, I would no longer have a pair to brag about.

Rag & Bone Dodger boots made by Grenson. Retailed $650. Got them on ebay for much less.

Not too high, about $500 for my first pair of dress shoes, Santoni 6140's.

By what stretch are you poor if JL's (~ $1500 new) cost you 25% of your monthly income?

Hmm - some ballers on this thread - Black C&J Audleys. I walked into C&J on Jermyn and the SA there I don't think was convinced I actually owned a pair since they were bought at PLAL and he couldn't find me on their system. Guess it didn't help that I looked like I was 'backpacking through Europe" -

My most expensive pair is my Corthay Sade with flaming croc cheek pieces (just under $2K last year, presumably they would cost even more today since it's my understanding that crocodile has been continuing to go up):
