Of course, this being Netflix, The Brothers Sun is already canceled, barely two months after release.

i liked it up until the ending, which was a disappointment. Both leads were great though.

Also this. It was ok, but I had higher hopes because I liked Atlanta. Some cool outfits though.

Hot (maybe?) take: HBO is stupid. Stop giving these "auteur" showrunners carte blanche on when to end a show. Have yet to see S4, but given how grand TD's storytelling ambitions are (it's a great season, but I would argue S1 also failed in this regard) typically, 6 episodes is nowhere near enough to tell a story beyond a relatively simple whodunit.

Same critique of the GOT doofball duo (though, admittedly, they had and earned far greater say in dictating terms) and their irredeemably shite ending.

The New Look on Apple TV - We are on episode 4. Excellent cast and the story is loosely based upon the history of Coco Chanel, Christian Dior during the occupation on Paris by the Nazis during WWII. John Milkovich is a special surprise with a quiet, delicate style (Not Con Air!)

BTW, if you happen to be in London or headed there soon be sure to catch the Channel exhibit at the V&A museum. It is so well put together (and get there early, it will be very busy within an hour of opening even on a weekday).

Rewatched S1 of Slow Horses while traveling the last few weeks. Lamb has some fantastically hilarious lines. Very well written but he deliver's so perfectly! Damn Oldman is a gem. I'd watch a dozen seasons of this. Mick Herron has 8 books in the series so there's plenty of source material.

Lamb: "Give me your phone."

Min: "My phone? No...I FaceTime my kids on it"

Lamb: "I don't care if you AssTime the Pope on it, give it to me"

I couldn’t agree more about True Detective. What a disappointing end to an otherwise solid season. Given how often good show runners/writers fail to stick the landing has me thinking that maybe it’s virtually impossible to create an ending to a compelling, long running or complex drama (Sopranos, GOT, etc.).

I’m trying to remember a show that actually ended well. The only recent show that comes to mind is Station Eleven but that was just perfect all around.
