The wedding is at august and it’s going to be an outside wedding (HOT!!)
Where I live nobody wears suits to weddings so I am looking for something not formal.
I was thinking chino pants with a button up shirt and a sports coat but I am a little stuck with the colors and the patterns (and shoes).
Can anyone help me with the mixing and matching of this?
I am about 5.7 ft. tall very slim, 24 year old male.

Navy blue sportscoat, khaki chinos, and brown shoes. As for the shirt: a checkered dress shirt. In any one of these colors: light blue, pink, or purple.

Shirt looks good, pants should be on the lighter side I think. You can also think about linen. What about a slightly-lighter-than-navy blue sportcoat, beige linen pants and that shirt? Do you have already shoes to go with all this?

Consider a tie as well. If you think it would look absurdly out of place I understand, but an odd jacket and trousers ensemble is already a bit more casual than a suit.

+1. It's summer so keep the colors on the lighter end. Linen trousers in my experience also look nicer and are more comfortable than most chinos in the heat.
