The wife wanted to watch Red One last night. Maybe because my expectations were subterranean, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's not good, don't get me wrong, but reviews made it seem like you'd want to gouge your eyes out while watching it, and it's just... meh.

Yeah, that sounds pretty accurate. Inoffensive background entertainment.

The Holiday just reminds me of Black Doves- "That's the one with Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz, yeah? Oh, that's a right sh!t movie."

First installment of holiday horror marathon: Krampus.
It doesn't take itself too seriously, has creepy visuals, overall a good watch.
Next up in holiday horror marathon: Infinity Pool
I didn't know much about this one before watching. If I'd known it was a Cronenberg film (well, son of Cronenberg) I probably would have passed. This is not my thing. Decent performance from Mia Goth though.

I've been watching non-horror Christmas movies; I've already mentioned Die Hard, Die Hard 2, Carry On, and Red One; last night was Dear Santa.

Kinda OK, especially if you like Jack Black (though I don't). The whole thing goes sideways in the last ten minutes or so and ruins it. Definitely the worst so far.

I still consider this to be the quintessential Jack Black movie:

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
