DO NOT make the mistake that I made, and watch this film while under the influence of lysergic acid.
I was so stoned the first time I saw it I couldn’t work out if it was in B&W or colour…so I got up and walked out..

Friday: Made it about 1/2 way through this and lost interest. Someone tell me that it is worth re-starting and watching until the end....

I love that movie. It's far from perfect but its one of those that I can watch again and again. Very well cast.

I thought Layer Cake was surprisingly tedious and dull. I was expecting something like a Guy Ritchie movie but I remember Craig being utterly charmless and the movie being almost entirely devoid of humor. I didn’t like it.

I can see that. I also love the Guy Ritchie movies which are more high concept and have a fair bit of humor. I found Layer Cake didn't intend to elicit laughs like Guy Ritchie movies so both have a place for me. Great soundtracks as well.

Exactly how I felt when I got about 1/2 way....and that was a little after the Sienna Miller bedroom scene!

I'm glad I'm not the only one when I watched Layer Cake; I quit watching about halfway through.

If you liked Eraserhead,
Eraserhead is not a film that you *like*. You maybe go see it for completion's sake.
Wild At Heart is my favorite from Lynch

Bobby Peru alone...

while Elephant Man and Straight Story are too ordinary and conventional ?, the rest are in between

I enjoyed it, and Tetsuo. Wild at Heart is great but my absolute favorite Lynch flick was Blue Velvet, and one of my top movies of all time.

Ditto. And as a side note, the Regency Cafe (site where Craig's partner administers a beatdown in one scene) happens to also be my favorite English Breakfast on the planet ?

It was the first movie I've seen in a cinema in 1½ years - wasn't even planning to go, but got invited. I like DC, but not as Bond, so had already pretty low expectations. The film's biggest problem is that it's too long and never manages to tell a compelling story (who wants what and why - and why should we care?). The best thing was the (too little) time with Ana de Armas.

I guess when cinemas reopen here, that'll be my first movie, but I'm not expecting much. Thought Craig was fantastic in Casino Royale, and then average-to-solid through a series of poor-to-middling subsequent movies.
