Living in China, I feed on a steady diet of bootleg DVDs and HBO fare. Here are my reviews in 5 words or less.

Hanna: Liked it, a tad arty.
Black Book: Loved it.
Year One: Funnier than expected.
Cedar Rapids: Not terrible, not great.
I Am Number Four: Turned it off after 3 minutes. (6th word for free!)
Chinatown: Still the best I've seen
Paul: M'eh.
The End: Liked the accents, nothing else.

I'd say Lost Highway is his best, although I know most would disagree.

I've seen this plenty of times, but I finally cracked open the 30th Anniversary Edition DVD two nights ago after owning it for six years. It's been followed by bigger and more elaborate summer blockbusters, but Jaws remains one of the most well-done of the lot. The characters are vivid, the cinematography is excellent, and the suspense remains intact after decades and countless viewings. The attacks are done so wonderfully that I *still* get a bit on edge as each one builds.

It's Blue Velvet or Mulholland Drive. Anything other opinion is just trying to be different.

I like Mulholland Drive best, but I don't think I'd consider someone choosing Eraserhead to be beyond the pale.

Inland Empire is pretty great, too.

Like I said, most would disagree. That's the nice thing about Lynch, people respond to his films with a greater array than most directors. Its not like saying Tarantino's best film is Jackie Brown, or Coppola's is Dracula, now that would be an outrage. With Lynch there is more width.

The Man from Earth: I enjoyed it. Kind of a well thought out Twilight Zone feel to it.

Cave of Forgotten Dreams ******* rules. This is why Werner Herzog is Werner Herzog.

See it in 3D if at all possible. Amazing.

I just finished watching 'The Lincoln Lawyer' and thought it was great. I read the book years ago and thought the movie was just as good.
