In the spirit of all the space movies posted, just watched this last night. Surprisingly strong with a few good nods to 2001.

Been on my list for a while, glad you liked it.

I've ran across some pretty random movies lately. Always the case on the plane though. Last night I streamed the movie called "Mud" with Matthew McConoughey. It was almost like a classic film from the 80's or something, in a good way--it seemed like something I would have enjoyed as a young boy, because there is an element of mystery that is also realistic. The coming of age story for a boy when you realize that adults are gonna disappoint you because they are not perfect. Not too bad, and the Hollywood star was looking a bit scruffy in this one, so he wasn't too unbearable. That accent is a bit much though.

+1 for Mud. McConoughey is a Texan so the accent may be a bit much but authentic nonetheless

The previews for the Butler make it look like a fake trailer for an Oscar bait movie that you would see on a sketch comedy show.

Yeah, the first time I saw one, I was half expecting, "and Tyler Perry as Rosa Parks!" to flash on the screen.

Closer. (2004) Was pretty great, human emotions played out so realistically. And Natalie Portman is so fine she makes Stephen Hawking pop wood.

Just had the misfortune of sitting through "Only God Forgives." Wife picked it because of Gosling but it was like some Thai dude decided he'd try to imitate Kubrick and Lynch simultaneously and completely missed the mark. Pretty good visuals but the movie was just too weird for its own good and I like weird movies.

- worth a watch, but if you're going to see it, be careful not to read anything about it beforehand.
