Realized it's been over a month or more since I've had a taste of Eagle Rare 17; probably my favorite bourbon out there right now. Poured myself a double, very small ice cube. Fantastic drink, even in the heat.

I've only had bourbon three times this summer. Too damn hot for GTS or WLW. Fall is right around the corner though!

Went to Wilson Bar in San Francisco last night. Had an amazing time. Had a Pinkerton cocktail, Truth Serum cocktail, one other cocktail I can't remember, green Chartreuse VEP, Thomas Handy bourbon, George T Stagg, Sazerac 18, Bol's Genever, a rum, and somethihng else that I can't remember.

Over the last few days I have had Death's door gin and tonic, Grgich Hills Sauvignon Blanc, Cakebread Sauvignon Blanc, and a few other things.

Limes are something I've obviously taken for granted. I've never thought about places that don't have them. I'm used to them being 2 for $1.00 at every supermarket around me. Good rum and regular Coke is pretty solid without a lime though.

Right now, drinking Woodchuck Granny Smith. Very chuggable.

Yeah, Korea has never had limes, though recently they come in from America one week a year, as if they think those things are seasonal... just one of the many notorious food+drink shortcomings over here. You learn when you order a Corona or a tequila shot and they give you a wimpy paper thin slice of lemon (since they're a $1-1.50 here)....

currently, a cold Corona.

Bourbon question - if I like Beam but dont like Woodford, and Jack's alright, am I going to like Wild Turkey?

Yes, in my opinion, you'll like Turkey. Turkey is solid. If you're real nutzo, you can go for the higher proof. But, the 80 proof Turkey is really good. Mix it with some Coke or water, possibly sour, and you'll be feeling like a real American.

That blows man. I think a Mexican beer w/lime is one of the most refreshing and tasty summer drinks out there. But without lime, their beers almost have a skunky flavor. I'll still drink them, but to me, a lime pulls it all together. I went to a grocery store in Lawrence, KS a few years back, and they were having a huge meat sale because their refridgeration broke down periodically. I got a gang of chicken and steak, and they handed me a paper bag with (i **** you not) 40-50 free limes. We ended up throwing them at each other because we couldn't drink enough beer and rum to use 'em up.
