Having my 1.5mo old barrel aged Le Flaneur (Boulevardier variant) for the first time and it’s delicious. The five of us drank maybe 6oz each and took 8oz each for the road. Decided to let the rest ride. Fun to get together every month for a fun session of light beers, coupla’ cigars and of course, some more Le Flaneur! Not the best photo, but was plenty delicious.

Try pouring a shot of Kahlua in it. Pretty fantastic. It was a house specialty at Checkpoint Charlies on the Esplanade in New Orleans back in the day. Kicks it up a notch and gives it a tasty sweetness.
I will try this.
Kahlua tends to make most things better.
Last night I was searching on things to mix with Irish Cream, and every single hit mentioned Kahlua, or something like butterscotch snaps, schnapps? which who has that.

You guys should try making your own bitters. The ingredients are easy to score, use Costco's overproof bourbon. This book will get you going and then try your own recipes. The important thing is, keep notes. I've kept notes and I have some pretty solid recipes now. I give a bottle of one of my recipes on a regular basis to the somm at the fancy resort by the Piob Palace.

In other news, I put down a batch of Dark Matter chocolate stout this afternoon. If you want to just dabble in homebrewing, the Pinter 3 is really where it's at.
