ok they had the damn Fentiman's on sale today so I got 4-packs for about $4 instead of $7! Now if I could just find that handle of Tanqueray.... :fonz:

i'll have to keep my eyes peeled for those brands at loblaws/metro, perhaps i'll get lucky and find em at costco. where do you buy yours?

I think these ones are just regular Coke, restaurant/small supermarket bottling. 70 cents a bottle and I get 10 back when they come to pick up the case of empty bottles.

usually I pick it up at Fresh Market. It's an East Coast/ Midwest grocery store chain that carries somewhat nicer (and pricier) products than the average grocer.

http://www.wix.com/fentimans/test here's their website.... in the upper right there is a "Where To Find" tab... seems they are pretty widespread so you should find it somewhere. :)

The other stuff of Fentimans is great, too.

ya... cheers for the lemonade and ginger beer (tho' I think I like Reed's Extra a bit more for Moscow Mules). Haven't tried the others... suggestions?

The thing is, I've never seen their stuff (besides the tonic) in Hamburg. When I was in London, I had their cola. Granted, that's not much I've tried out, but I guess pretty much all of their sodas are well crafted and taste at least okish. The cola, while obviously pretty different from Coca Cola, was pretty good. And hey, it's got alcohol, too!

Knob Creek Single Barrel.
I didn't feel like having a drink with a lot of heat so i knocked down the 60% alcohol with an ice cube. It made for a very pleasant night cap. I haven't cracked this bottle in a while and I forgot how much I enjoyed it considering it's Knob Creek.

The other night I finished my bottle of 30 year Alberta Premium. It made me want to go grab another bottle, especially for $50, but unfortunately I am on a purchasing hiatus. I can't quite describe what is so different about this whiskey, but it's one of the least whiskey-ish whiskeys I have ever had. In a good way.

some decent Australian shiraz... it's amazing they can make a drinkable table wine for $6-$7.

one sugarcube, two thin slices of lime, third of a palmful of small mint leaves muddled
two shots of HC 3
just a splash of the darker HC barrel proof
top with ice
top with soda
one lime slice and a little unbruised mint at top
drizzle of the Monin mojito syrup, just a quick gentle stir

I've never enjoyed a mojito because alcohol + mint + sweet registers instantly as mouthwash to my brain. But maybe I've just never had a good mojito? Not sure.
