I haven't seen him for about 20 years, glad nothing has changed. Except the beard. I'm imagining how quickly he'd send his AHL goons over the boards at the sight of a beard in years gone by. Except during playoffs, during the playoffs beards are traditional. Otherwise...

Don Cherry dressed like a flaming queen in heat still gets more tails (female) than 90% of the self-professed "stylish" gentlemen on this forum.

Despite the fad (long lasting yes, but based on how it started and how large parts of the world still ignores this "rule", yes, that's the appropriate word) of the bottom button being undone on SB coats, it's still perfectly normal to button the bottom on DB coats. Some button it, some don't, but it's left up to preference. As for Don, I love it. Except for the stupid collars. I never could figure out why anyone would ever want to wear those. Flat out ugly. Don Cherry: "He's a beaut!"

I had the privilege of meeting him, once, at a charity function. He can be very charming and witty. On that occasion, his attire was slightly "tame".

I have always wondered if it is to hide scars from cosmetic surgery. You can see it on lots of the sportscaster guys like bob costas and sometimes Al Michaels - a scar line on the neck/throat. I would rather see Don Cherry's look than the scar line.

Cherry's been wearing high collars for a long time (at least as long as I can remember -- 25+ years), so that seems unlikely. See example below.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
