You put on 10 lbs in 10 months. Most guys I know would kill to achieve that.

When you scratch the surface these "hard gainers" are usually eating well under maintenance, never mind growth. And if they are gong to a gym it's to follow a mostly idiotic routine of 300 hundred chest reps and an entire day devoted to arms so that they can really "blast them!"

So until you know how much you're actually eating and calculate how much more you need to eat, and until you tried a smart program of appropriate compound lifts for 6 months, then assessed and adjusted both food and program for another 6 months, I say the claim of being a hard gainer is just an excuse.

As for feeling full and not being able to eat any more. We're talking about 3000 or 3500 cals, not 8000 (which I've done at times). If you can't find a way to ingest another 1000 cals, all I can say is man up.

For many years, I struggled to gain weight. Then I realized the reason for my past failures was that I ate to enjoy instead of eating to grow.

What I perceived to be "tons of food" was actually only a meagre portion, mainly foods that I enjoyed eating. When I finally acknowledged eating as a task instead of a process of enjoyment, the results came.

In fact, I strongly feel the term hardgainer is a misnomer. As far as I'm concerned, there are only two types of people; the "normal" 95% of the population and the 5% who are easy gainers.

This thread has become useless, as it always does when those who aren't interested in meaningfully contributing begin to post. Eason, thanks for the workout routine.

No problem. I should add the .ppt to the first post too.
