This has been my experience too. If you agree to not buy things for one another, she will get you something anyway. I think I got caught out once - never again.

Well, we are going out for our anniversary dinner Sat night so I think I am probably safe until Sun. morning at least. I am also sending flowers to her office tomorrow from her favorite florist. That should earn some points as well.

And yet another update -

2 1/2 year old is running a 102-degree fever, so cancelled dinner and artwalk. Grilled steaks at home and are currently watching "Wallace & Gromit and the Curse of the Were Rabbit" for the 500,000th time!

Wife loves the jewelry box though!

...but this thread reminds me of a funny story I heard Walter Williams tell. He got his wife a pair of golf shoes for Christmas so she could more safely wash his car when it was freezing outside!
