DSM in NY and LA are in weird locations (although less of a deal for NYC since everything is accessible). It has the advantage of being a multi-brand store and does a lot of hype collabs/exclusives that will always draw foot traffic.

It's also based on what fits the brands aesthetic. The fact that they have a store in Santa Fe rather than London for example. I'd love them to, but clearly doesn't work.

45r is an example of the wrong place too. They opened off of Bond Street and have shut already. Covid didn't help but they should have been somewhere more fitting for the brand, like Soho, I feel.

I don't know enough about geography in London, but the original 45r store in Paris is basically on Saint-Honore and the one in NY is in SoHo. I assume both do all right given how long they've been there. Neither are particularly "boho" vibes (would something like West Village or Brooklyn make more sense for NY?).

My understanding of the Santa Fe store is that it's not really part of Visvim but sort of run as a franchise. I believe a couple of the FIL stores in Japan are operated similarly (Sendai is operated by Revolution I think)

When they opened in Soho in NY it was still semi boho. Brooklyn wasn't the Brooklyn you know today.

That's fair, I actually don't know when 45r opened in SoHo My knowledge of NY is 2007 onward~

Yeah Bond Street is prime luxury central like hermes, gucci etc. Nothing similar to be fair. Closest is browns which is not in the same street.

I knew the guys working at 45r London very well. The shop was off Bond Street and whilst footfall was “ok”, it wasn’t amazing. Their biggest issue was people just weren’t aware of the brand so those “in the know” loved it but anybody else just walked on by

What exactly happened? They posted taiwan as a country in retailer list? Theyre so soft- the constant attacks on brands like Kapital and anybody showing any different viewpoint instantly gets harassed, even over a VPN. What a joke. And re: even if they unload their stuff, they're resellers at heart so prices will be garbage. Better save your IG photos of them wearing american flags on visvim stuff lol.

Yeah there was a Story post which blitzed through the store names and they were on the list.
