unless more members here like the idea of adding a belt and removing shoulder gussets. Whos in?

This is like adding another gmto onto what started as a gmto over a year ago, especially with something so specific like removing the gussets (something minimalists might want) and adding a belt (something you could already get with the standard Vanson Derby). I don't think Thurston is going to offer another model, or get 10+ people to agree on changes so specific (when they all will probably want super specific changes as well which would ruin the whole point). You'll probably just have to eat the custom fees which are still very reasonable for what you're getting

Removing shoulder gussets would likely the a bad idea.

why would it be a bad idea? no gussets have been featured on this vanson model and the back design looks similar to the daredevil.

Because the Junya is just a derby with some customizations. For the same size, it has wider shoulders. This is one of the major complaints about the "sizing" of that jacket. If you want slim shoulders, you have a super tight waist, and the sleeves are typically extremely long for any given size.

The Daredevil has considerably slimmer shoulders. No, you won't need to having your arms fully extended to ride a bike, but at the same time, you do want reaching for your coffee or beer to be reasonably comfortable.

I agree, i do want reaching for a beer to be comfortable hence i would only request removal of shoulder gussets if I could increase the shoulder width. I don't like the original sizing where it was 2 inches wider but to accommodate no shoulder gussets, an extra 0.75" or 1" should help over come this.

How limited is this run? I'm probably visiting friends in Seattle in early July, and I wouldn't mind checking it out in person.

Those chest and shoulder measurements look much slimmer than expected. I thought sz M was going to have a shoulder of 17.5 and chest of 21.25?

agreed...chest measurement looks small
sleeve still looks a bit long...how much can you expect it to shorten from wear & creasing over time?
