A few years ago the Moorbrook mill closed, which specialized in jacketings and coatings from rarer cloths; cashmere but more importantly vicuña and guanaco. They now exist in name alone, like so many of my favorite mills. However, when they were closing out I snagged a bolt of natural guanaco cloth. It's one of the two wild camelids that live in the Andes, the other being vicuña. To my knowledge, nobody since Moorbrook has made a cloth in it, with the exception of Dormeuil, who made a blend called guanashina that apparently costs 25k for a suit. The recent versions now don't contain any due to rarity, ironically. Anyway, I have no use for the remaining 12meters in the bolt, and so want to get rid of it to anyone interested, for cost price. Send me a PM if you're interested, even just for more details. Oh, and please excuse my photography.

Fabric Fiends, Cloth Chaps, and all you Textile Types:

I'm looking for a needle in a haystack.

I have this Martin Greenfield BBGF seersucker jacket in cream and navy and want to have some pants made to match the jacket.

I've looked at several on-line fabric stores and several m2m companies but haven't found anything remotely close.

I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd ask.

I asked Chris to send me some swatches for my upcoming "navy" sportcoat. I have since learned my lesson - pore through cloth when you are at your tailor so that you have an idea of what you may want to commission at a later date.

Also, for those in the wings, I have decided to pass on the W. Bill Phoenix. Opting for something that is more "Louisiana three-season."
Which season are you skipping? I thought Phoenix would be good for fall-winter-spring in Louisiana.

I am skipping our so-called winter. Texturally speaking, Phoenix - which I anticipate is similar in texture to my Rust jacket - is really only useful in the winter season. The temperature here ranges from the high 80s to high 90s from March through November.

(cross posted...)
style advice requested: I'm thinking about commissioning a navy blazer of the ivy-trad-gold-brass-button variety and was wondering if I should get it made up in a hopsack cloth or something like flannel or a doeskin fabric. Is one of these more 'appropriate' with the whole brass-button get up (for instance, are there any seasonal connotations with this type of blazer), or is it just 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, etc...

thanks!
