Rota has a great light-blue-grey wool/cashmere herringbone option in their configurator that's really lovely. Just took delivery of mine and it's just been the wrong weather to try them out this week.

I really feel like the mid-grey herringbone is a classic, but it needs something special to it. There needs to be something unique to it, like the one available from Marchesan.

The LL tweed photographs like a grey/white, but is really more teal/sand in natural light. I have a jacket in process now, and suspect it will be very nice.

I have slight regrets about not subscribing to this one.
As do I. The range of colors Concordia described wasn't apparent in the initial photos. A plain grey herringbone is more useful as a city suit in flannel or even worsted, but this is quite different.

I was originally interested in the concept, but then the photos lead me to feel that it was not something that I would find useful. Concordia's description is closer to what I envisioned from the original concept.

Indeed. Still not sure I would wear it as just a jacket, but the photos may convince me otherwise.

Should go well with khaki or charcoal trousers. Or blue corduroy..

I'm looking to order a few three-season sportcoats this spring. Wool-silk-linen is appealing, as is wool, provided it's high twist or otherwise wrinkle resistant.

I don't need the lightest weight options, necessarily. I like cloths with nice body and drape, even if they wind up wearing a bit warmer. Honestly, once the humid 85+ Fahrenheit weather arrives, I rarely wear tailoring.

What are your favorite books that meet this criteria? Thank you gentlemen.

And now, for the tweed lovers, here is my final commission for this fall/winter: an Abraham Moon houndstooth. I went with besom pockets on this one because all of my tweeds have patch pockets. I was inspired by a few Instagram posts of country tweeds that had besom pockets. It looks neat, IMO.

I had planned to do besom pockets with a different Moon tweed, but the orders got a bit mixed up, and that one had patch pockets.

Could I get some suggestions for good winter cloths for odd trousers, mid brown and navy? Moderate to heavy, nice drape, soft. Not sure about the donegals but I like the flannels.

Some I've been looking at:

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
