Nothing like a few diminutive turds to liven up the holidays.

I have had a few suits made of 50/50 linen/wool (no-name samples from online jobbers), and have been really happy with them. Around 300g, holds a crease fairly well compared to pure linen, a pleasant hand, pretty durable and very cool to wear. For something that is not strictly business, it's a good option.

I have a 250 gram wool charcoal olive green linen suit made from a dormeuil cloth which is surprisingly drapey, has body and does not crease as much.

Next thing they need to make is a fresco silk suit 😅

Dear gents,
I'm looking to commission a barleycorn tweed jacket in a dark-ish brown with plenty of contrasting (grey/lighter-brown) shades and flecks in it (although not a donegal).
Somewhat similar to this fine example.
Could gentlemen make any suggestions for such a barleycorn cloth?
Many thanks indeed, and apologies for asking again..!

Summer Tweed

@The Chai @classicalthunde @ppk @owenshill @DorianGreen @brax

Okay the word from Bennett Silks is there's a 100m minimum. The price is cheap but let me reach out to Derek first to confirm he wants nothing to do with this given that it's his labor that went into creating the cloth, and I don't want to ride off his work unless he truly doesn't want to be involved with another run of the fabric. I've never done this before so I don't know what the etiquette is.

@classicalthunde and I are following up to clarify some information about shipping, who accepts payment and deals with tax/import stuff, and whether we can get some samples ahead of time. But in the meantime if you're interested, feel free to reply here and let us know for how many meters so we can get an initial sense of interest.
I would like 3m for a sports jacket, please. (if not too late)
Thank you.

Linen Fresco arrived today (I ordered the grege color). It wasn't originally my intent to just gut buy the cloth. I actually wanted to email them about the last of their Flamant rose which I'd been looking at and had problems with the online POS. It was just fortuitous that I could turn it into a two subject email and all of a sudden ordering from the original limited run. It's pretty cool. Anyway, the hand is cool, but the Flamant Rose is really the standout of the two. I had heard good things about MH's linen, but I'm really impressed by vibrance of the colors.

And it took all of the Vicuna from Piacenza being delayed so that we've got a break and the Linen fresco is funded as the next the next thing up from G&N once they're finished with the DB Escorial and the SB LGB sharkskin.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
