Summer Tweed

@The Chai @classicalthunde @ppk @owenshill @DorianGreen @brax

Okay the word from Bennett Silks is there's a 100m minimum. The price is cheap but let me reach out to Derek first to confirm he wants nothing to do with this given that it's his labor that went into creating the cloth, and I don't want to ride off his work unless he truly doesn't want to be involved with another run of the fabric. I've never done this before so I don't know what the etiquette is.

@classicalthunde and I are following up to clarify some information about shipping, who accepts payment and deals with tax/import stuff, and whether we can get some samples ahead of time. But in the meantime if you're interested, feel free to reply here and let us know for how many meters so we can get an initial sense of interest.

Many thanks - I would potentially be interested, but am entirely unfamiliar with how many meters I might need for a sport jacket and/or trousers (I'm 5'8", or 172cm).

I would be grateful for some guidance. This fabric looks awesome. Thank you for organizing.

2 for a jacket / 3.5 for a suit would be safe

apologies for derailing the above discussion, would anyone happen to know where this cloth is sourced from? or where I'd be able to obtain a similiar sort of matte cav twill?

Thank you for your input. I'm going to check out the Dugdale. It's the only thing I found today that was remotely in line with what was in my head.
There was a limited fox drop for a Chocolate brown cavalry twill - it only was 300 grams or so but my word the colour was amazing. I think someone here posted their suit made in the CT.

I suspect we have been looking for the samething since I missed out on that fox drop. Dugdale is the only thing close so far.

2.0-2.5m for a jacket and 3-4m for a suit. You would need to ask your tailor

That, I’m not sure. I’ll defer. As mentioned, I thought it was woven in China. But apparently not.
Bennett silks wove the die workwear summer tweed. The one they have on stock service is the same cloth just different color. Plus even if it was woven in China, they do alot of silk manufacturing and the quality of their stock one (I've never had a chance to acquire the DWW version for a commission) is really good and iir I bought it for 45 gbp (this was 2021) per metre but prices may have gone up since then
