Has anyone tried or seen the new Bonfanti Capri Popeline/i? The normal Capri is a fantastically useful quality, but the 'popeline' is 170g/m. Wondering how useful that is in real life.

Not identical objectives, as far as weight and formality. Some very good things, however.

I know the Fox book is a tad lighter, but is it also less formal? The Fox Worsted Classics is one of the 4 books I was considering for a classic navy suit alongside Botany, Finmeresco, and SuperBio.

No, I suppose it is in roughly the same sandbox. Maybe an analogue of the Harrisons Fine Classics.

I’ll ask for my tailor’s opinion then, he just got the fox books but has worked with the Smith, Harrison, Hlesser books all his life. I’d probably err of trying the fox because of the colours. The WT27 looks amazing - wonder how the handle compares to lesser

I hope I don't sound like too much of a tyro asking this: which companies make good tartan cloth? I would very much like to buy some in the black & white Walter Scott tartan but am unsure if I can trust the clan.com weave-on-demand service.

Dugdale has quite a few options
I know and like Dugdale but their options don't include what I am shopping for (their tartans are lightweight and don't include my specific one). I am asking more about if the various companies which weave tartans and only tartans produce a good cloth.

When I was looking for my tartan for a pair of trousers, I got samples from all the mills I could find and gave them to my tailor (Terry Haste), who chose that from Lochcarron of Scotland as the best quality for my purpose.

Hi all - this is my first time going on a bit of a fabric goose chase. I am trying to source a 2018 VBC fabric to have a new pair of trousers made. Does anyone have recommendations to locate fabric from this era (even through an MTO outlet). The code is
486.895/18. I’m also happy if someone could recommend a contemporary match (do they re-issue?).

Thanks so much. Any tips are appreciated.

Does anyone know if this griege cloth is still available in the Greenhills bunch? I can’t seem to find this online.

forget about it. it was part of the four season vbc bunch (asian market), you won't find it in europe in any cut length bunch anymore
