Hi Gents,

I have been traveling for work alot recently and need some better luggage. I have a decent rolling suitcase that I carry on. I think a nice travel backpack would help, too, as my brief case isnt big enough. Tumi and Briggs & Riley come to mind but I wonder what else in out there.

Any experience/suggestions? I need functionality but also like style....ff

Thanks

For great functionality along with nice styling and decent pricing check out Knomo. If I had to carry a "work" backpack for travel I would also give serious consideration to Mont Blanc.

If you want the backpack for business you'll want something that is neat and well designed. Porter Yoshida bags or Masterpiece (at No Man Walks Alone) are both Japanese brands that have attractive and functional details without being flashy, so ideal for work or travel.

Probably more mainstream and not "styleforum approved" but for work I like to use the following Tumi bag: tyndall backpack

1206355

Pretty discrete and professional looking, and I really like the very large zippered flap at the top for packing in everything I need for business trips. Probably a bit overpriced like most Tumi gear, but I've seen it on their annual sale for 30-50% off depending on colorway and it has the opening in the back that lets you hang it on top of your carry on bags which is pretty useful (ie, wearing a suit and not wanting to wear the backpack).

I know the T-Pass is pretty popular too with the separate laptop-only section but if you have TSA pre-check or global entry you don't need to take out the entire laptop anyways so I prefer the larger carrying capacity of the Tyndall over the T-Pass.
