Any idea if he can/will do a closed channel stitch? Another cobbler I know of in St. Paul refused to do it after initially looking at me like I was an idiot and suggesting my shoes with closed channels are just glued and he could glue new soles on to keep the same look so it would be great to...

Does anyone know if Jok (GTA Shoe Shine) still does his shoe shine service? Messaged him a few days ago but haven’t gotten a response, though it could be due to the holidays.

Or, does anyone have recommendations for where else might offer a similar service?

Results from Gary Coakley in London. Another highly recommended cobbler.

First pair are Florsheim 93605 in shell Cordovan. JR soles and cat paw heels.

Second pair are corrected grain Florsheims. Vibram soles make them awesome rain shoes:

22 year old Reebok sandals now have new life. New leather exterior and straps made from scratch.

How are the Vibram soles? Debating on getting a pair re-soled with them versus regular Dainite.

I find the Vibram Eton to be a little more flexible than Dainite. Almost no break in period.

I find whenever I wear my Dainite pairs, I "feel" them when I walk, and then I get used to them. With Vibram, I don't feel them at all.

Dainite is used by many premier brands and has a longstanding reputation. Try one pair of the Vibram and see what you think.

Someone on the Allen Edmonds facebook group used Rob's Best Foot Forward.

The work is HORRIFIC. How can this be given to a customer??? Wow.

This only confirms there are no decent cobblers in Toronto. I will keep shipping my shoes out of town.
