Have a wedding in a few hours. Will be wearing an odd plaid jacket, light blue oxford slacks, and a solid navy knit tie. Considering pairing a collar pin with a tie bar. Is this acceptable or would I be too much of a peacock?

Stick with one accessory, or can I do both?

too much going on too fussy.

Concurred. This kind of thing looked crap on Fred Astaire so I doubt we mere mortals can make it look good! One or the other, not both. Tie bars are functional as they help keep your tie out of your soup, what kind of gale force winds are people operating in that they need to pin down their collar?

I wouldn't. I'd say, if you have to ask, no.

but I could see it in a few specifics - blue suit, solid tie, solid shirt, maybe.

anyway, enjoy the wedding

If you decide to wear both, let us know how it goes. Better yet, post a picture. Good luck.
