Should be "hacking jacket" sorry . . .

Saw this on Ebay, measurements look good for me. Any general thoughts and specifically with repect to versatility - jeans / cords / khakis / dress slacks? Thanks very much.

Hacking Jacket, not 'Ackney. It's a good looking coat, and the seller's a member, so you can't go wrong. It's a little bit rural, so it'll go with jeans to moleskins to flannels to khakis - no worsteds.

Right, thanks very much for the correction and opinion. I guess I was thinking of horses . . .

I agree re: this being more of a country look. However, I do think it could be worn with a worsted successfully. But, I am not a big fan of the flapped breast pocket.

I tend to agree with you on the top flap pocket, might turn out to be a detail that works but again maybe not. Right now I'm outbid at $260 on this, trying to decide whether to snipe or let it go. One thought is that it's probably heavy enough to work generally as a fall / spring outer layer, also would look good with jeans / cords and my cognac Fryes. Think I should bid again? Thanks.

Hey, I cannot comment on where you ought draw the line on bidding. However, if it were not for the flap pocket, I would be very interested. I agree that, assuming the measurements work, it can serve very nicely with jeans and a sweater. I would easily wear with cords, a thin zip neck sweater, and nice shirt. Any casual to casual/dressy shoe ought work.
