Wow.

The girl at the wedding I went to sat on the floor in the middle of the aisle and played with her dress with her legs open. Parents didn't even think to snatch her up. People were looking...waiting....for SOMEONE ti step out and grab the child.

Luckily, the service was not very long and we were not seated near any children at the reception.

Now that I think about it the mom was a bridesmaidzilla, too. Like, she made the bride change the color of the bridesmaid dresses because it wasn’t a good color for her. Not surprisingly she’s now divorced.

Weddings are awfully boring, particularly ceremonies, so I find children to be entertaining.

I also find it funny to hear people complaining about kids at weddings considering how poorly so many adults behave at social gatherings. I’ve never seen a kid drink so much they pass out at a wedding.

All that said, I’m totally cool with people who have kid-free weddings as long as they don’t throw a hissy fit when people with kids decline their invitation. We had a friend who had an out of country kid-free destination wedding and still gave people a hard time for not attending. If you care that much you should create a separate space for kids nearby and hire childcare for them. That’s a win win.

I was just at a wedding where a few people decided religion and politics were the best topics of conversation.

We had an open bar with top shelf liquor. And it was actually a full bar, so they could make whatever you wanted. Advantages of having it in a place that's normally a bar. (I remember drinking a lot of Glenmorangie 10.)

I've only heard of one awful story. (A guest's boyfriend trying to hook up with another guest.) Nobody embarrassed themselves in public, and nobody was stuck at a table making awkward conversation. I am 100% for cocktail receptions if you can do it. The food was way better than standard wedding fare, too.

I look back on my wedding and don't regret doing it at all, even though the cost was a little hard to stomach.

"Destination weddings" is another thing people having one should not ***** at non-attendees about. So someone doesn't find YOUR wedding worth spending their hard earned lucre and vacation time on and you're upset? **** you.

I'm having a destination renewing of vows and you're all invited, so you all have to send gifts.
