they aren't even that good. Ansel is very close to my apartment and I remember when it was just like any other shop. The lining up for hours is more of an LA thing than in New York and I rarely understand those lines either.

The NY Times sets new lows all the time, and not just with their stock price.

Why? It is sadly representative.

Also, fg, the thing Besha forgot/ignored with her column is that Pittypat's is a tourist trap for people looking for Southern nostalgia, not for Southerners waxing about how things used to be. Its kind of important.

This was a two block-long festival of food trucks with people packed shoulder-to-shoulder throughout much of it. I couldn't even see the end of the lines most of the time as they all formed into some sort of giant blob in the middlet. Every single one of these trucks I could find today and pick up food without waiting for more than a minute at most, yet for some reason people felt the need to wait in endless lines in the heat only to have to eat their meager portions cramped on sidewalk like rats.

I only went because it was two blocks from my house and it was a beautiful day for a walk.
