This thread seems a lot more strict than the Classic Menswear WAYWT thread. That’s the opposite of what I expected, since CM has more rules, at least in theory.

Love the cut. The dropped crotch combined with wide legs is weirdly flattering and elegant. I like that instead of elastic hems that taper at the ankle, the bottoms are wide and straight cut, lending to a dramatic stacking effect.

The fabric is a really nice, heavy boiled wool. Beyond the refined feel and texture, the material allows the pants to maintain some structure while also draping really nicely. The folds and waves in the fabric are big and soft. It is obvious these are not actual sweatpants but rather sweatpant-inspired pants.
I can appreciate the sensory appeal of the fabric and, I guess, the concept. I don't think that these achieve stacking because of the big and soft folds. That quality instead makes them just look too long IMO. Flattering is in the eye of beholder, of course, but in this case, I get the impression of someone who has taken off the top half of a costume rather than a pleasing contrast of volumes.

Guys, respectfully, can I ask that we not make fun of things that people can't change about themselves?

It's really frustrating bc it takes away credibility from the myriad of other subjects that you can shitpost about and meme.

(this isn't a comment about the post above this one, but just about how feedback is given here in general)

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
