I seriously think you are engaging in projection here, man. One thing that really stands out to me is that you seem to equate $$$$$ with style and that you essentially treat yourself as though you are a mannequin. If you put expensive clothes on your body, then you are stylish, right? Hell, I even remember your old suit fits where your pose literally made you look like a mannequin.

This is baseless extrapolation. I’ve never said or expressed any of these things.

I try to be pretty specific and direct with why I think things—including why I think something looks bad. Money and cost have never figured.

I don’t totally love this
Love the individual pieces in particular the jacket, but sloped shoulders extenuated probably isn’t great aesthetics. Also, looking for help pairing the outfit with diff shoes. The lookbook was styled with white sneakers with a gum sole but I haven’t found a pair I really love.

Sleeves down and up…here I guess I was forcing a Robert Geller look with bomber silhouette.

Thanks
I’ll continue looking for a band collar shirt I think.
Also, try the outfit again with jacket buttoned up from to bottom to experiment with the shape around waist and down. I think it might help, that’s how it was originally styled. Right now the white henley is creating a lot of white space in the midsection. May be the case wearing a jacket closed > open. I’ve seen it done successfully I recall in the NMWA thread.

you’re not standing out with that fit anymore than the guys you’re calling out, and maybe that’s your intention, but I do think you should size up on the shirt. You’re a smaller guy with very little shape on your torso, so why emphasize that?

I think you hit the nail on the head as to why the foofit doesn't work well. If he was broad shouldered with a big chest like The Rock/Dwayne Johnson, then the skinny shirt with loose sweat pants would feel visually balanced. Unfortunately, foo is more like a stick of ChapStick shaped and like you said, his choice of shirt isn't flattering to his body.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
