Took a spontaneous trip to the Iberian seat of fascism, truly a beautiful city, architecturally. The Atocha train station had plenty of turtles just chilling, too.

On my return I transited via Heathrow. I though I was going to miss my connection because of wether related delays in leaving Madrid. I didn't even have a boarding pass because British Airways kept giving me errors when trying the online check-in. I was allowed through the express passport lane and barely got through after the agent called the counter and got me a seat on the plane. Upon arriving I saw a large crowd just standing about. Turned out there was a delay, first 10 minutes, then 20, ... eventually they told us there was a little mouse aboard the A380. Fortunately another A380 was landing shortly and we would be able to take that. But it wasn't to be so, as inclement weather resulted in the massive aircraft being struck by lightning. It would be another 5 hours before we could take off, or I could have gone on some other flight but landing in a different nearby city. So naturally I just decided to leave the airport and hang out in London for two days, which required me to be escorted out of the airport by security. A british airways agent looked at my passport and said, "you Americans won't even let a mouse into the country." Sent a message to work but nobody believed me, thinking I was just skipping town...

Fortunately I wasn't asked to balance a binary search tree upon arrival to the US.

Not hard. Any 2nd year CS student can do this. But that's astonishing that someone at TSA thought to test the claim. Idea must have come from Peter Thiel's NZ dungeon.

What do they do if you're a surgical resident, ask to demonstrate an appendectomy?

Probably just a prostate exam, err, I mean *ahem* enhanced screening

I'll be happy to give the TSA a complimentary lobectomy for whatever remaining brain they may have

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
