Everything that is offered in an auction must be, by definition, an investment. Or something like that. I'm convinced anyway.

And a bargain. Don't forget that. A plan-evolving, investment grade bargain. Every time.

Sorry to do this Frilly...

Jeez, Montblanc really churn these things out.

The Dunhill/Namiki collabs before World War II forced them to sever the relationship have some wonderful examples. Sadly, I fear I like to actually write with these things a bit much, so I'm always fearful that some of the older nibs won't stand up to the daily grind. Some of the modern examples I have always go through John Mottishaw at Classic Fountain Pens for a little "nib optimization" just to make sure it writes super smoothly.

I've never been to a watch auction, or even really had much of an opportunity-- but always figured that was for the best.

Absolutely. I've been to a couple of pre-auction viewings where you get to paw some nice watches, but I've never bid for a watch. Really dangerous stuff. I've bid for art and furniture before and I've managed to keep my cool. But watches I could get carried away with.

Crazy prices being paid at some of these auctions. Considering selling my Siffert through one of the larger houses, but not sure if it is the right piece for it.

Anyway, this is a thread on watches, not money, so here is my week in watches :)
