Mont Blanc is absolutely killing it w/ the new Vasco da Gama - $12K for a RG, $7.6K for the steel.

It seems to still suffer from the case being too big for the movement, with the subdials forced to the middle of the dial. While the price is attractive, I'm not sure I find it to be an attractive watch.

While I agree w/ that assessment with re: to the Perp Cal, I think the Vasco still looks quite nice.

Love the Rieussec -- would pick one of the new tribute versions (with the hidden lume hour markers) if they popped up in the used market. Reallyyyyyyy cool watch.

This is my favorite MB. :slayer:

If I'm spending a lot of money on an engagement ring for my girlfriend, shouldn't I get an engagement watch? Or at least a watch for the wedding? I think so... Maybe make her dad pay for it as a dowry? Thoughts?

You should demand both an engagement and a wedding watch!

It definitely looks better than their previous designs. But if the watch industry is going to stick with 41+mm watches, can ETA/Sellita/Soprod et all start making movements with bigger date rings?

if you come from a country / culture where its traditional for the groom / groom's family to demand a dowry, then sure. Otherwise it is very bad form.
