That's neither here not there; you just posted that Tag pic (without comment) after making that Speedy comment.

You're supposed to comment on the straps and the Tag as a fashion accessory, not fixated on the brand. Lighten up yo.

Very interesting article. It confirms what many of us have probably been thinking: the current large watch trend is out of step with what buyers want/need.

It does seem like some recent releases (Black Bay 58, Zenith Heritage 146) are finally beginning to acknowledge this reality, but it will take quite a while to clear the retail channel. It will be really telling if we see some classics return to their original size, but so far most brands seem to still be upsizing their lines. Seems totally counter intuitive, but maybe the watch companies know something we don’t. This data suggests they don’t. Will make for an even harder landing in the next recession.

Speedy?

Always felt it's a must have, but have never actually pulled the trigger.

Yes..finally... a Speedy, but not a classic Moon Watch. I's a late 90's- early 00's Broad Arrow variant, the 3594.50. Kinda like the more recent "trilogy" release, but amongst other differences the case on this one has twisted lugs (rather than straight) and it doesn't have the faux lume. Not technically a limited edition either LOL.

The brown truck should be arriving in H-town tomorrow :colgate:

Here's an unattributed pic that I've pulled from Omega Forums to give you an idea. I bought mine on the OEM bracelet... but got-damn (!) speaking of beautiful straps, I think this combo looks quite tasty...may have to try something similar:

Ah, I remember the Broad Arrow from the early '00s. Nice variant.

Beautiful watch, I've noticed the hands on these tend to oxidize rather quickly which was my one critique of the watch. I actually bought the dial from this watch and dropped it into my FOIS because it has the old applied logo and the old Omega font, very rare prior to the 60th anniversary watches!

Okay. Here’s a quick and dirty wrist shot...first impression is quite positive for me.

The applied logo *was* a big draw. (Love your FOIS and strap choice btw). The winding seems smooth, the chrono buttons have a sharp feel to them, and it starts/stops/snaps back crisply.

Obviously it’s pre-loved and whatever polishing or touch up that’s been done, has been performed with care. I didn’t get any extra links and fortunately won’t need them. Bracelet and clasp are comfortable but I know I’ll be trying various combinations...leather, croc, NATO, Zulu, etc. Because strap whore.

I’ve read about the oxidation issue but hopefully won’t encounter it with this piece. Seems to be hit-or-miss anecdotally on the forums. Maybe I will get lucky in that regard.

Planning to give it lots of bonding time and will check performance at some point in terms of +/- ...although I’m not the biggest stickler on that. So let the honeymoon begin LOL. F125A6B5-F7EC-4528-B65B-90C154FA8B81.jpeg

Looks terrific! I've heard the oxidation is hit or miss too, perhaps they had a few suppliers of hand sets at the time? Yours looks clean. In any case, the Speedmaster movement isn't COSC and can't hack so forget any type of accuracy and just enjoy it, deviation or no!
