Very nice.

smartphone pic? They use a pretty wide angle as stock, the workaround i like is to pinch zoom and scrub off some of the periphery, imo this helps restore a more lifelike perspective.

only...if you're extremely tan and handsome
Everyone in this thread meets those criteria. At least in our own minds. Dismissed!

New shoes for Speedy...
Well, Flava, it looks fine to me. I know it's not the classic Speedy, but I do love the look of a two-register chrono. Mmmm.

This. Phone cameras always have an exaggerated perspective, so going a little farther out and zooming flattens it a little for a more realistic wrist shot.

Blacklung
Should we be taking some kind of vaccine? What is it?

Diving watch from the late 1960s. Jacques Cousteau endorsed them and became the US (?) importer.

The watches had a bright orange dial with an image of a scuba aqua-lung on the bottom left of the dial. The circle surrounding the aqua-lung was coloured in black in early models but it was discovered that this actually obscured visibility of the hands as they passed over the symbol so the colour of the symbol was changed in later models.

Of course, in typical WIS fashion, it's the early, less useful models that are now the most collectible!

Doxa dive watches with an orange dial are also referenced in some of the Clive Cussler series of adventure books, featuring the character Dirk Pitt. Dr. Cussler was a dive enthusiast who worked in a dive shop in the late 60s. Matthew McConaughey wore one when he portrayed the character Dirk Pitt in the film Sahara.

I just discovered these Doxys recently while roaming around the internet. I like the dial but hate the bulbous case shape.

Well back in the 60's and 70's there were lots of quirky, or different shaped watch cases. Omegas Flightmaster and Rado's "original" back in the day were both chunky and sort of oval shaped. Its definitely not for everyone.
